Heute ist es mal wieder an der Zeit eine, hier im lande, unbekannte Band vorzustellen, die sicherlich einige überzeugen wird. MAMMOTHOR ist eine amerikanische Alt-Metal-Band aus Boston, Massachusetts, die 2012 gegründet wurde. Donnernden Heavy-Metal-Riffs und das Gitarrengeschredder der 80er Jahre, abgerundet mit der Leidenschaft und Vielseitigkeit der 90er Jahre Alternative. Travis Lowell ist der Frontmann der Gruppe und ist mit seiner kraftvollen und vielseitigen Stimme markant für die Band. Damit treffen sie das Herz ihres Genres und überzeugen sofort mit der Musik. Heute erscheint ihr Musikvideo zum neusten Song „Novocaine“, welches eine weitere Single des bevorstehenden dritten Longplayer "The Ecstasy of Silence...The Agony of Dreams" markiert.
Zurückblicken kann die Gruppe auf zwei Alben. „Tyrannicide“ erschien 2014 und war der Anfang der Band. Drei Jahre später folgte „Devotion Lost“ mit der sie eine deutliche Entwicklung zeigten. Ihre Melodien sind vor allem extrem melodisch und doch können sie diese mit härteren Stilmitteln, als auch Gesänge verbinden. Nun blicken sie mit ihrem neusten Werk in die Zukunft. Wann genau die neue Platte auf den Markt kommt, steht noch nicht zu 100% fest. Doch man munkelt, dass es Ende August erscheinen wird. Trotzdem könnt ihr bereits in Songs reinhören und die Platte vorbestellen.
Denn MAMMOTHOR veröffentlichte bereits seit letztem Jahr Material für ihr neues Album wie zum Beispiel: "Hitcher", "Trial By Fire", "You Don't Know Me" mit beinah 98.000 Aufrufen auf YouTube, "Final Hour" mit 75.000 Aufrufen, und "Do You Call My Name". Musikalisch wird es ein wenig ehrlicher, gemeiner und straffer zugehen. Man hat keinen Gramm Fett ansetzen möchten, sondern lieber Wert auf harte Muskeln gelegt. Die Truppe möchte mit ihrer Promotion einen anderen Weg einschlagen. Die Songs werden langsam digital veröffentlicht, der Fokus liegt allerdings mehr auf dem physischen Gesamtpaket. Im Grunde muss man sich also das Album kaufen, um es zu hören, oder viel Geduld mitbringen.
Die Gruppe hat die Pandemie überstanden und tritt nun in neuer und vor allem bunter Formation auf, die man auch im neusten Musikvideo sehen wird. Alex Muss (Gitarre) kommt aus Weißrussland und interessiert sich sehr für den Metalcore-Stil. Euz Azevedo (Schlagzeug) hat jahrelang in Das Muerte gespielt, einer experimentellen Metal-Band aus Boston. Frontsänger Travis, Basspielerin Lori und Gitarrist Josh sind natürlich weiterhin dabei!
„Novocaine“ erschien mir persönlich als ein ziemlich wichtiger und tiefsinniger Song, den die Band präsentiert. Daher habe ich Frontmann Travis Lowell kurzerhand selbst gefragt, was es mit dem Track auf sich hat. Er kommentiert folgendes:
„Josh hat die Musik geschrieben, ich habe den Titel und den Text geschrieben, und wir haben alle beim Arrangement geholfen. "Novocaine" nimmt die Krise der verschreibungspflichtigen Medikamente in den Vereinigten Staaten aufs Korn. Die Politiker tun so, als wären sie einer von uns. Sie nicken mit dem Kopf und lächeln ihr "perfektes Lächeln", während sie Verständnis vortäuschen. Hinter der Fassade freuen sie sich, uns mit Medikamenten zu versorgen und uns für die Lügen, die sie verkaufen, zu betäuben. Die ganze Zeit über wird alles, was in unserem Kern ist, dem Verfall überlassen...“

Today it's time again to introduce an unknown band here in the country, which will surely convince some. MAMMOTHOR is an American alt-metal band from Boston, Massachusetts, which was founded in 2012. Thundering heavy metal riffs and the guitar shredding of the 80s, topped off with the passion and versatility of 90s alternative. Travis Lowell is the frontman of the group and is distinctive to the band with his powerful and versatile voice. With this, they hit the heart of their genre and immediately convince with the music. Today sees the release of their music video for their latest song "Novocaine", which marks another single from their upcoming third long player "The Ecstasy of Silence...The Agony of Dreams".

So basically, you have to buy the album to hear it, or have a lot of patience.
The group has survived the pandemic and now performs in a new and especially colorful formation, which you will also see in the latest music video. Alex Muss (guitar) comes from Belarus and is very interested in the metalcore style. Euz Azevedo (drums) played for years in Das Muerte, an experimental metal band from Boston. Lead singer Travis, bass player Lori and guitarist Josh are still with the band, of course!
"Novocaine" struck me personally as a pretty important and profound song presented by the band. So without further ado, I asked frontman Travis Lowell himself what the track was all about. He commented as follows:
"Josh wrote the music on this one, I wrote the title and lyrics, and we all helped with the arrangement. "Novocaine" takes the prescription drug crisis in the United States head on. Politicians pretend to be one of us. They nod their heads and smile their "perfect smiles" as they feign understanding. Underneath the facade, they are happy to keep us medicated and numb to the lies they are selling. All the while, everything at our core is left to rot..."
