    Rapture Of The Deep erstrahlt als Remix in neuem Glanz

    Im Zuge der Neuauflage zum 2005er "Rapture Of The Deep" Album wird besagtes Album gerne als "unterbewertet" oder "vergessen" beschrieben. Zumindest ich habe das Album damals sehr gerne gehört, was auch damit zusammenhängen mag, dass ich das zwei Jahre vorher erschienene "Bananas" Album der Band nicht nur wegen des Coverartworks und des Albumtitels als etwas seltsam empfunden habe. Wenn man sich allerdings anschaut, dass DEEP PURPLE in den letzten 12 Jahren nochmals einen ganzen Schwung an guten bis sehr guten Alben herausgebracht haben, dann wirkt "Rapture Of The Deep" rückblickend betrachtet dann doch so ein wenig wie eine vergessene Perle.

    Dinosaur Pile-Up - neue Single/ Video "Sick Of Being Down"

    Mit "Sick Of Being Down" geraten Dinosaur Pile-Up in einen posttraumatischen existenziellen Zusammenbruch. Aus dem Album I've Felt Better, welches am 22.08. über Mascot Records erscheint Die Alt-Rock-Helden Dinosaur Pile-Up veröffentlichen heute ihre neue Single „Sick Of Being Down“. Die Single stammt von ihrem ersten neuen Album seit sechs Jahren, „I've Felt Better“, das am 22. August bei Mascot Records erscheint.

    50 Jahre Iron Maiden: Offizieller Bildband "Infinite Dreams" zum großen Bandjubiläum erscheint am 7. Oktober im Prestel Verlag

    Einer legendären Band kann nicht oft genug ein würdiges Denkmal gesetzt werden. Im Fall von IRON MAIDEN sind es 2025, inmitten der unglaublich erfolgreich laufenden RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR, gleich mehrere – und eines davon verspricht bereits weit vor der Veröffentlichung ein absoluter Fan-Schatz zu werden: Der offizielle Bildband “Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams” (Anfang des Jahres von Thames & Hudson angekündigt), erscheint am 07. Oktober 2025 auf Deutsch im Münchner Prestel Verlag.

    Das neue Trickster's Day Album erscheint morgen

    Platzhalter smallDie saarländischen Hardrocker von TRICKSTER'S DAY veröffentlichen morgen, 22.06.2025 ihr neues Album "One Night", das in Eigenregie erstellt wurde. Mit dem Sound von Charles Greywolf und der Dynamik der fünf Jungs erwartet uns hier ein großer Wurf in der heimischen Umgebung.

    Sweet - Live At The Marquee 1986

    Das Re-Release von SWEET, „Live At The Marquee 1986“, welches am 10. Oktober 2025 via Metalville Records als CD und Vinyl neu aufgelegt wird, sollte sich kein Hardrock-Fan entgehen lassen. Es zeigt eine großartige Band der Post Brian Connolly Ära, der wie die übrigen Band-Member als Songwriter und klassische Rockband wahrgenommen werden wollte. Schlagzeuger Mick Tucker erläuterte die Situation der Band Mitte der Siebziger Jahre einmal treffend, wenn auch heute nicht mehr politisch korrekt:  "Wir waren wie vier heruntergekommene alte Huren, die in Top Of The Pops herumtanzten und Pop produzierten, einfach nur protzig wie Arschlöcher. Alle hielten uns für einen Haufen Schwuchteln.“

    Mike Tramp - Songs Of White Lion Vol. III

    Mike Tramp kann seine WHITE LION Vergangenheit nicht loslassen. Immer wieder lässt der mittlerweile 64-jährige Däne die glorreichen Zeiten einer Band aufleben, die viel zu schnell 1991 wieder in der Versenkung verschwand. Nun reflektiert er bereits zum dritten Mal auf seine ehemals außergewöhnliche Band. „Song Of White Lion Vol. III“ erscheint via Frontiers Music am 19. September 2025. Auf „Vol. III“ befinden sich eher weniger beachtete Songs von WHITE LION, zum Beispiel der Opener „Dirty Woman“ vom 1989er „Big Game“-Album, der damals kaum Interesse weckte, nun aber als kraftvoller Hardrock-Song in anderem Licht erscheint; eine ähnliche Erfahrung suggeriert „If My Mind Is Evil“ vom gleichen Album; wesentlich intensiver.

    Glenn Hughes – Chosen

    GLENN HUGHES (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, ex-THE DEAD DAISIES, ex-DEEP PURPLE) is an incredibly skilled bassist, with a wonderful groove in his playing. In addition, this man has one of the absolute best voices in the Rock world, with an unmatched vocal intensity. The Englishman is known by fans as “The Voice of Rock”. In 2016, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of DEEP PURPLE. Last week, Hughes released his latest solo album “Chosen”, which will likely be his last, according to what the artist has written on his social media. Hard Rock and Funk Rock merge as usual, spiced with his characteristic Soul touch. The sound is also inspired by Heavy Metal and Blues Rock. This new material has a modern production with a timeless aura and is described as a personal work, with lyrics about the human condition, love, hope, faith and acceptance.

    Deep Purple - Rapture Of The Deep (20th Anniversary Remix)

    Dank Mastering zur späten Präziose in der Karriere einer der größten Rockbands aller Zeiten. So könnte man das neu aufgelegte, einst eher ungeliebte „Rapture Of The Deep (20th Anniversary Remix)“ bezeichnen. Gut, ich bin in Sachen DEEP PURPLE ziemlich befangen, aber was unter der Federführung von Roger Glover in Sachen Soundoptimierung hier gelungen ist, grenzt an Zauberei. So äußert sich Roger Glover und die Band zur Neuauflage des 18. Studioalbums aus dem Jahre 2005 mit einem Statement, welches man getrost übernehmen kann: „What If You Could Hear A DEEP PURPLE Album You Thought You Knew, Like Listening To It For The First Time?“. Das kommt auf der enormen Erfolgswelle der letzten Alben genau zur richtigen Zeit.

    Mastodon + Evil Invaders (03.08.2025, Luxemburg (L))

    Eigentlich hatte ich mich ja vor einigen Jahren mit MASTODON etwas auseinandergelebt. Mit „Once More `Round The Sun“ haben mir die Amis viel zu viel an Airplay und Radiotauglichkeit festgehalten, auch wenn ich ihre herausragende Musikalität nach wie vor schätzte. Doch die letzten beiden Alben gingen wieder mehr in die von mir bevorzugte Richtung, was heißen soll, dass die Melodien in meinen Ohren eigenständiger und gewaltiger waren. Zudem war ich doch sehr gespannt auf den neuen Touring-Gitarrist Nick Johnston. Also trat ich mit Fotograf Frank die Reise nach Luxemburg an und erhoffte mir einen spannenden Abend.

    Judas Priest + Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons (19.07.2025, Luxemburg)

    JUDAS PRIEST machen mit ihrer aktuellen “Shield Of Pain”-Tour auch in der Rockhal in Luxemburg Station. Gerade zeitig nach dem Release des Hellfest-Mitschnitts steigt die Spannung und die nicht geteilte Rockhal ist an diesem Abend gut gefüllt. Ohne ACCEPT wie auf den deutschen Tourdaten zieht das Paket aus den Metal-Göttern und PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARDS SON eben auch ordentlich Leute und die werden an diesem Abend redlich belohnt
