Am 09.März 2019 werden in Tórshavn, der Hauptstadt der Färöer, wie jedes Jahr im März wieder die Faroese Music Awards verliehen. Die Faroese Music Awards werden von einem Zusammenschluss färöischer Medien, wie dem Färöischen Fernsehen, dem Nordischen Haus, dem Medienhaus, dem färöischen Musikverband sowie dem Verband färöischer Komponisten ausgerichtet. Ziel des Ganzen ist es, die hohe Qualität der färöischen Musik ins Rampenlicht zu stellen, sie wertzuschätzen und ihre besten Vertreter zu ehren.
Dabei gibt es grundsätzlich zwei Kategorien: Pop/Rock und die „offene Kategorie“, unter der so ziemlich alles andere zusammengefasst wird. Neben der Verleihung der Preise werden auch 10 Künstler live auftreten. In diesem Jahr wird Neckbreaker auf Einladung der Faroese Music Awards für euch vor Ort sein und nicht nur von der Preisverleihung selbst berichten, sondern auch von allerhand Konzerten und sonstigen musikalischen Veranstaltungen, die die Woche über stattfinden werden. Schaut also in nächster Zeit öfter mal rein!

On the 9th March will the Faroese Music Awards be awarded in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands. The Faroese Music Awards are awarded by a cooperation of several Faroese Media associations like the Faroese TV, The Nordic House, the Media House, the Association of Faroese Musicians and the Association of Faroese Composers. The aim of the Faroese Music Awards is to highlight the high quality of the Faroese music, to honor and celebrate it and to award its best representatives.
There are two main categories: Pop/Rock and the „open category“ under which you can find pretty much everything. Besides granting the prices there will also be live shows of 10 artists. This year, Neckbreaker follows the invitation of the Faroese Music Awards and will take part for you and will not only report from the awards, but also from other concerts and musical events that will take place during the week. So have a look in here every now and then!
