Seit Monaten ist es keinem mehr möglich Konzerte zu geben. Völlig unerwartet wurden die Livestreams zu den neuen indoor Konzerten. Interaktion mit dem Künstler? Wenn überhaupt über einen Chat. Und wann wieder normal Konzerte stattfinden können? Das weiß bisher auch keiner. Wie es für Künstler aussieht, die dieses Jahr nicht mal ihr Publikum kennenlernen können, sondern nur über Social Media kommunizieren können, diese Erfahrung macht Cory Marks, der neue Stern auf dem Country Markt. Warum ich nun über Country Musik schreibe? Weil er die Country Musik neu belebt und auch das Genre neue Aufmerksamkeit erlangt. Cory Marks mischt den Country mit Rock und ein wenig mit Metal. Eine Kombination vom Feinsten, die sich derzeit über die ganze Welt verteilt. Denn überall auf der Welt verteilt hat er bereits seine Fans, die ihn während dieser Zeit supporten und ganz gespannt auf sein kommendes Album „Who I Am“ sind! Also Hut ab, denn während dieser Zeit so gut bei seinen bis lang noch unbekannten Gesichtern der Fans anzukommen, das muss was heißen.
Sarah-Jane: Denkst du, dass es eine unterschiedliche Wahrnehmung von Country Musik in Deutschland und in Amerika oder Canada gibt? Wenn ja oder nein, würdest du erklären warum?
Cory Marks: Ich bin mir nicht sicher wie es in Deutschland ist, aber ich würde sie sehr gerne wissen lassen wer ich bin und die Country Musik, die ich repräsentiere.
Sarah-Jane: Hat sich dein Leben sehr verändert während deinem Erfolg? Hat es dich in einer Art und Weise verändert?
Cory Marks: COVID-19 hat viele Dinge verändert. Wäre es nicht so gekommen, denke ich, dass ich die Frage anders beantworten könnte. Ich bin mir wirklich nicht sicher, bis ich sehe kann wie viele Tickets ich verkaufen kann wo auch immer ich spiele. Hoffentlich Jann ich sag ja, hat es wirklich. Auf der anderen Seiten hören Menschen auf der ganzen Welt meine Musik und ich bin sehr dankbar für das.
Sarah-Jane: Was ist dein nächstes Ziel in deinem Leben und in deiner Musik?
Cory Marks: Ich kam unter die Top 10 im US Rock Radio, ich würde gerne meinen ersten Hit auf Platz 1 der Charts sehen und Tickets verkaufen. Ich kann es kaum erwarten wieder unterwegs zu sein und zu performen.
Sarah-Jane: Wie war die Zusammenarbeit mit Ivan, Travis, Mick und Lizzy?
Cory Marks: Es ist unglaublich solche großartigen Künstler zu haben, die meine Musik genug wertschätzen, um vom ersten Album an ein Part davon zu sein. Ich bin sehr dankbar dafür.
Sarah-Jane: Könntest du dir Features mit anderen Künstlern vorstellen? Warum? Und wer würde das sein?
Cory Marks: Ich könnte mich definitiv mit anderen Künstlern arbeiten sehen. Ich bin ein Fan von viel verschiedener Musik und Genres und ich mag es anders zu sein und möchte mich von den anderen abheben. Wenn ich ein paar Namen nennen könnte, würde ich gerne mit Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, Shania Twain, Post Malone, Eric Church oder Luke Combs arbeiten. Jeder aus unterschiedlichen Gründen und ich denke nur wir könnten etwas Tolles kreieren.
Sarah-Jane: Würdest du gerne ein anderes Genre ausprobieren? Und wenn ja, welches?
Cory Marks: Ich mag es wo ich bin und wo ich hingehe. Country Musik, Rock und ein bisschen Metal zu mischen ist genau das wo ich sein möchte, weil es keiner außer mir macht.
Sarah-Jane: Schreibst du als erstes die Texte und kreierst danach die Riffs oder machst du es andersherum? Gibt es ein Rezept, um einen Song zu schreiben?
Cory Marks: Ich habe nicht wirklich eines, es passiert wann und wo es sein soll. Manchmal starte ich mit einem Titel oder Texte, manchmal starte ich mit einer Melodie oder Musik. Es kommt drauf an.
Sarah-Jane: Sind deine Texte auf wahre Erfahrungen basiert oder sind sie fiktional?
Cory Marks: Viele davon sind wahre Erfahrungen, entweder habe ich es durchgemacht oder erfahren. Deswegen bin ich auch so leidenschaftlich in den Songs und performe sie mit den Emotionen, die ich habe.
Sarah-Jane: Beschreiben die Songs “Who I Am” und “Keep Doing What I Do” dich?
Cory Marks: Ziemlich gut. Beide sind definitiv Erfahrungen oder Teile meines Leben, die ich durchlebt habe.
Sarah-Jane: Warum ist Canada ein so faszinierendes Land für dich?
Cory Marks: Ich denke die Welt ist faszinierend und ich hoffe die Musik bringt mich ein paar Mal um die Welt.
Sarah-Jane: Magst du es vor einem großen Publikum zu performen oder in einem kleinen Club und warum?
Cory Marks: Jedes hat davon sein eigenes Feeling und Atmosphäre. Je größer und lauter die Menge, desto besser. Je mehr Energie, die ich von der Menge erhalte, desto mehr möchte ich es zurückgeben.
Sarah-Jane: Möchtest du noch etwas Persönliches an deine Fans weitergeben?

Since month it is not possible to give concerts. The livestreams are the new indoor concerts. It was completely unexpected. And when can concerts take place normally again? Nobody knows that yet. What it looks like for artists who can't even get to know their audience this year, but can only communicate via social media, is the experience of Cory Marks, the new country star. Why am I writing about country music now? Because he is reviving country music and the genre is gaining new attention. Cory Marks mixes country with rock and a bit with metal. A combination of the finest that is currently spread all over the world. Because he already has his supporting fans all over the world, they are very excited about his upcoming album "Who I Am"! He receives a lot of attention although he can’t get on the road to see his faceless fans so far.
Sarah-Jane: Do you think theres is a difference in the perception of country music between Germany and the United States or Canada? If yes or no, would you explain why?
Cory Marks: I'm not sure what it's like over there in Germany but I would sure like to let them know who I am and the country music I represent.
Sarah-Jane: Did your life change a lot due to your success? Did the effect change you in any way?
Cory Marks: COVID changed a lot of things. If it wasn't for that I think I could answer this question differently, I'm really not sure yet until I can see how many tickets I can sell where ever I play. Hopefully I can say yes, it really has. On another side it's got people to hear my music from around the world and im very thankful for that!
Sarah-Jane: What is your next goal in your live and in your music?
Cory Marks: I've gotten a TOP 10 at US rock radio, I'd like to see my first #1 and sell tickets. I can't wait to get back on the road and perform.
Sarah-Jane: How was the partnership with Ivan, Travis, Mick and Lzzy?
Cory Marks: It's incredible to have such amazing artist's that appreciate my music enough to want to be part of it right from the first record. I'm very thankful for that!
Sarah-Jane: Could you imagine some other features with different artists? Why? And who would that be?
Cory Marks: I could definitely see myself working with other artists. I'm a fan of a lot of different music and genres and I myself like to be different and out of the box. If I could name a few I would love to work with Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, Shania Twain, Post Malone, Eric Church or Luke Combs. All for their own reasons and I just think we could create something great.
Sarah-Jane: Would you like to try a different genre? And if yes, which one?
Cory Marks: I like where I'm at and where I'm going. Mixing Country music, Rock and a little bit of metal is right where I want to be cause no one else is doing it.
Sarah-Jane: Do you writte the lyrics first and then create riffs or the other way around? Is there a recipe for writing a song?
Cory Marks: I don't really have one, it just kinda hits where and when it does. Sometimes I start with a title, lyrics sometimes I start with a melody or music. It all depends!
Sarah-Jane: Are your lyrics based on true experiences or are they fictional?
Cory Marks: A lot of them are true experiences either something I went through or experienced. That's why I'm so passionate about the songs and perform them with the emotions that I do.
Sarah-Jane: Do the songs "Who I Am" and "Keep Doing What I Do" describe yourself?
Cory Marks: Pretty much. Definitely both experiences or parts of my life that I went through.
Sarah-Jane: Why is Canada fascinating country for you?
Cory Marks: I think the world is fascinating and I hope this music takes me around it a couple of times.
Sarah-Jane: Do you prefer to perform in front of a large audience or in a smaller club and why?
Cory Marks: Each have their own feel and vibe. The bigger the crowd and louder, the better. The more energy the crowd gives me the more I want to give back.
Sarah-Jane: Would you like to address something personal to your fans?
