Am 12.2. erscheint 'Love and the Death of Damnation' das bereits fünfte Album von THE WHITE BUFFALO, gleichzeitig handelt es sich hierbei um das Labeldebüt für Earache Records (Rival Sons, The Temperance Movement, etc) und um die erste offizielle Veröffentlichung des Künstlers in Deutschland. Das Album erscheint auf CD und Vinyl mit drei exklusiven Bonus-Tracks.

Gegründet vom Singer/Songwriter Jake Smith, ist THE WHITE BUFFALO den meisten durch seine musikalischen Beiträge in der Serie „Sons Of Anarchy" bekannt. "Come Join the Murder", der das Finale der Serie untermalte, wurde zusammen mit dem Produzenten und Schöpfer der Serie, Kurt Sutter geschrieben und wurde für einen Emmy in der Kategorie "Outstanding Music and Lyrics" nominiert.

'Love and the Death of Damnation' beinhaltet eine Sammlung authentischer, bewegender und dunkler Blues-Nummern. Darunter auch das erste Duett von THE WHITE BUFFALO überhaupt. „I Got You" ist ein Duett mit Audra Mae, Sängerin auf Avicii's Welthit ‚Addicted to You' und Großnichte von Judy Garland.

Jake Smith sagt über das Album folgendes:

"With this album, I really wanted to get back to songs... I wanted to get back to writing individual stories, as opposed to an extended narrative. I wanted each song to make you feel something. In the past, the songs have almost always been pretty dark. But this time, I was also able to channel some happier stuff and write a couple of actual feel-good songs. It's also more varied musically. I really made an effort to expand my sound, and to get out of my comfort zone as a songwriter."
